What Listening Can Do: Sonic Pluralism as Artistic Research
Following the publication of his book Sawt, Bodies, Species on sound and aurality in Morocco (Adocs, 2023), Gilles Aubry offers insights into his artistic research practice. His presentation highlights collaboration as a comprehensive methodology for co-producing and mediating knowledge in both anthropology and sound art. This approach encompasses conversations, experiments, and performative interventions conducted with local artists, musicians, scientists, and communities. Central to these exchanges is the act of listening, emphasizing its potential to foster social, political, and ecological change.
