Tomoko Miyata (waterbowls)
Gilles Aubry (live sampling)

Ambient meditative improvised music.

Tomoko Miyata improvises on waterbowls, a self-invented percussion instrument made of Chinese porcelain bowls filled with water, inspired by an instrument of carnatic music (south india), Jalatarangam. The pure and delicate melodies are live-sampled and slightly processed by Gilles Aubry to create new layers of sound mixed with the original ones.
They come together with a highly meditative music which illusion of polyphony generates a sensation of pleasant vertigo.
