February 11th 2023 – From A to Om via Eendrachtsplein, performance at TENT Rotterdam

As part of the exhibition There is no party so noisy as the one you’re not invited to, Berlin-based artist Gilles Aubry is presenting his sound installation From A to OM, questioning the scientific construction of knowledge about languages and the voice as well as the technological developments and ethical implications of speech synthesis.

During Art Rotterdam, Gilles Aubry he activate his installation with a performance he developed together with actress, singer, and voice-over Carolina Mout, whose voice is very familiar to the people of Rotterdam through the announcements of the local public transport RET. Together they will engage in a series of vocal exercises and experiments on the boundary of machine learning and vocal training, artificiality and embodiment.
