March 22 2019 – “Atlantic Ragagar”, sound performance at Le 18, Marrakech
Sound cooking with seaweed and pollution by Gilles Aubry & Younes Boundir.
The performance combines interviews, soundscapes and scientific data related to industrial exploitation of red seaweed (aka “agar agar”) in Sidi Bouzid on the Atlantic coast in Morocco. Attentive to the effects of anthropogenic pollution on the fragile local ecosystem and to the precarious working conditions of seaweed collectors, Aubry & Boundir improvise a toxic mix of data fluxes and jellified noises.
