September 22 2018 – Workshop “Field recording and non-human voices”, Kulturburo, Zürich

 

 

 

 

 

Sound artist Gilles Aubry gives an introduction to field recording techniques, including various types of microphones, recorders and recording strategies.

The participants go then on a sound exploration of non-human sound sources in Kreis 4, looking for animal, vegetal, mineral and spiritual voices to record, ending with a collective improvisation based on such sounds.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own pets (dog, cat, goat, donkey,…) to record their auditory perspective using binaural microphones.
